TRAINING TIME FOR SOUTHERN HARVESTERS

Key staff from Southern Harvesters’ sales force got some valuable ‘hands-on’ experience with Simba’s Spread-A-Bale automatic straw spreading machine when they attended a session at Cowdray Park Estates, Midhurst, Sussex.

Southern Harvesters will be co-ordinating sales of the RASE Gold Medal winning machine across Hampshire, Sussex and Kent, and has already secured a number of sales, helping Simba towards around 100 sales in the first year since it took over marketing of the machine.

That total should be boosted further with the introduction at the Royal Show of a new side-discharge machine, which should further extend the appeal of the machine as it will enable farmers to carry it on the front forks of a relatively small tractor of the type employed on many livestock units.

The training session proved especially valuable, says Rob Iddeson, Simba’s Southern Territory Manager: “There is no substitute for seeing a machine ‘in work’, and this session enabled Southern Harvesters’ staff to see the Spread-A-Bale in action, and to understand more about its operation.

“It was also an excellent opportunity to run through a range of essential points regarding the adjustment and day to day maintenance of the machine, which will help them offer their farmer customers a high standard of service and support”.
